Hiking Trails & Walking Routes in the Czech Republic

Horní Bečva & Velké Karlovice, near V Buckovém (Zlín)

Distance: 16 km – Uphill: 716 m – Downhill: 716 m – Time: 5:20/6:40 hrs

Located in the heart of the Beskydy mountains, this protected landscape area offers a huge variety of opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and skiing.

On the Heights of Karlovy Vary, near Karlovy Vary (Karlovarský)

Distance: 14 km – Uphill: 638 m – Downhill: 638 m – Time: 4:50/5:50 hrs

Starting and finishing in the popular spa town of Karlovy Vary (aka Carlsbad), this route crosses the narrow Teplá Valley, reaching beautiful viewpoints.

Opava Valley, near Svätý Hubert (Moravskoslezský)

Distance: 14 km – Uphill: 607 m – Downhill: 607 m – Time: 4:50/5:50 hrs

The Moravian-Silesian Region benefits from its location at the border with Poland and Slovakia and features a well-preserved landscape. The waterfalls of Bílá Opava and the spruce forest ensure a lovely (but demanding) nature walk.

Hnědý Vrch & Bufet, near Pec pod Sněžkou (Královéhradecký)

Distance: 11 km – Uphill: 562 m – Downhill: 562 m – Time: 3:50/4:50 hrs

The trail touches a popular ski resort of the Krkonoše Mountains, a cross-border biosphere reserve under the UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme.

Berounka River, near Kozojedy (Plzeňský Kraj)

Distance: 12 km – Uphill: 208 m – Downhill: 224 m – Time: 3:10/3:50 hrs

The Plzeň Region is in western Bohemia and mostly belongs to the drainage basin of the Berounka river. It boasts several protected areas and wildlife parks.
