(re)Wandering in Berlin: Humboldt-Siemens

This can be seen as an attempt to recover the reality of space and the pleasure of real exploration in the urban context where most of us actually live or travel to. It belongs to a series of personal immersions that are explained and listed here. You can download the GPS track and its tags/waypoints from Google Maps.

Humboldt-Siemens Trail, Tegel-Siemensstadt, Berlin, Germany

Distance: 10.2 km – Total climb: 50 m – Total descent: 57 m – Duration: 2:56 hrs

You look at the map and say: “let’s connect the father of ecology with that of the electric elevator”. Today, only a pleasant lakefront, six giant murals, the remains of a magnificent forest, and the runways of the city’s main airport separate these two great Berliners. Overall, it is an epic walk that will be impossible to forget.
